Schools in the Cloud vs. Education Authorities: Dispute Over Online Exams in Homeschooling

Poland’s largest homeschooling institution, Schools in the Cloud, faces conflict with education authorities over online examination policies.

School in the Cloud Model

School in the Cloud (SwCh) is the largest institution in Poland for students fulfilling compulsory education through homeschooling. In this model, parents are responsible for the teaching process, while the school’s role is limited to organizational support and conducting classification exams.

Growth and Tuition Changes

In the 2023/2024 school year, approximately 30,000 students attended SwCh, the following year over 30,000, and in the current year – 26,000. Initially, education was free, but since the previous school year, parents must pay tuition.

Reason for Fee Introduction

The decision to introduce fees was a consequence of reducing educational subsidies for students in homeschooling.
