Simpler Benefit Application Rules to Take Effect

Poland is implementing simpler rules for benefit applications, affecting how documents are submitted and how employers communicate with the Social Insurance Institution.

Application Process Changes

Changes will cover three key areas: the method of submitting benefit applications, the format of required documents, and communication rules between employers and the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).

Employer Size Determines Benefit Administration

The rules for granting and paying benefits will continue to depend on the size of the employer. Companies with more than 20 insured employees will handle benefit payments directly.

Smaller Companies Follow Different Procedure

For businesses with up to 20 insured employees, benefits will be paid by ZUS. Applications in these cases can be submitted either through the employer or directly by the insured person, depending on specific circumstances.
