A tragic accident occurred on Saturday (August 23) before 11 PM on the A2 motorway. According to the Sulęcin County Fire Department, a heavy truck entered the toll booth at the Tarnawa Toll Collection Point, overturned, and caught fire.
Driver’s Fate
The driver died at the scene. Authorities are currently verifying his identity. No other individuals were injured in the incident.
Investigation and Emergency Response
Police spokesperson Maciej Kimet stated in a PAP interview that the cause of the accident remains unknown. Officers, under the supervision of a prosecutor, conducted inspections and procedural actions after fire crews secured the site and extinguished the flames. Fire brigades from JRG Sulęcin, OSP Torzym, OSP Gądków Wlk., and OSP Boczów responded to the incident.
