18-year-old Ukrainian woman Anastasia, hospitalized after police car accident, reveals she was forced to work for drug traffickers in Warsaw.
Police Car Accident Leads to Discovery
On January 16, at the intersection of Okopowa and Leszno streets in Warsaw, an unmarked police car with privileged signals collided with a passenger car. Three people, including 18-year-old Ukrainian Anastasia, were hospitalized. The woman had been forced to work by drug criminals and human traffickers for about three weeks before being held captive in a house on Ursynów.
Anastasia found a job advertisement in the capital on Telegram, believing it to be legal work. She had previously worked in a factory in Katowice before moving to Warsaw.
Forced Labor and Police Operation
Anastasia’s job involved contacting people who wanted to become drug dealers. She was not allowed to leave the house on Ursynów freely and was kept under supervision. One person managed to escape and notified the police, leading to an operation where police heard bangs and gunshots before checking passports and handcuffing everyone in the building.
During the police operation, Anastasia remembers the police car driving fast and zigzagging before colliding with another vehicle. She suffered 16 broken ribs and a damaged pelvis in the accident.
Officer Suspended
The Warsaw Metropolitan Police confirmed that the police officer driving the car entered the intersection on a red light while using light and sound signals. The officer had a category B driver’s license but lacked the authorization to drive with privileged signals.
By decision of the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Commander, disciplinary and criminal proceedings were initiated, and on January 30, the officer was suspended from duty. The prosecutor’s office in Warsaw Wola is handling the accident case.
