Counter-Terrorist Drills at Varso Tower

Counter-terrorism exercises are underway in central Warsaw, specifically in the area of Varso Tower, the tallest building in the European Union. The drills are being conducted by officers from the Central Counter-Terrorism Unit of the BOA Police Department, specializing in anti-terrorism and high-risk operations.

High-Risk Maneuvers in the EU’s Tallest Building

The exercises, described as maneuvers, involve the BOA team operating in the vicinity of Varso Tower, which stands at 310 meters. These simulations aim to prepare for potential security scenarios, including scenarios at the building’s highest levels.

Potential Preparations for New Viewing Terrace

According to available information, the drills may be linked to preparations for the upcoming inauguration of a viewing terrace on Varso Tower’s top floor. This terrace is set to become the highest observation point in Warsaw, with plans to open it later this year.

Black Hawk Helicopter Demonstrates Low-Level Flights

On-site observations show a police Black Hawk helicopter flying at low altitudes near the tower’s terrace and performing circling maneuvers. However, it remains unclear whether this is the only location being practiced today.
