Marta Nawrocka Reveals Dangerous Past in Law Enforcement Before First Lady Role

Former customs officer Marta Nawrocka details her dangerous 18-year career fighting illegal gambling and other crimes.

Previous Career in Law Enforcement

Marta Nawrocka served as an officer in the Customs and Tax Service under the National Tax Administration (KAS) before becoming Poland’s First Lady. Her work focused on combating illegal gambling, preventing production and trade of tobacco and alcohol products, and regulating the petroleum industry.

Dangerous Work in the Field

Nawrocka described her 18-year career as unpredictable and sometimes dangerous, involving direct field work with dangerous clients. She participated in forceful entries into locations hosting illegal gambling operations, where she encountered aggressive individuals under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Risky Situations and Training

Despite the risks, Nawrocka emphasized that no serious incidents occurred during her service. She mentioned that her team consisted of highly qualified officers and that she never had to use her firearm in the field, relying instead on other means of direct coercion like handcuffs. She noted that she hasn’t visited a shooting range in a year but intends to return.
