FlixBus crashes through energy-absorbing barrier on A4 motorway in Opolskie, injuring one person.
Incident Details
The incident occurred Sunday before 4 AM at the 204th kilometer of the A4 motorway between the Brzeg – Opole Zachód junctions. A bus traveling northbound toward Wrocław turned left, breaking through energy-absorbing barriers in the median and crossing into the southbound lane heading toward Katowice.
According to the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, the bus came to a stop on the green belt.
Aftermath and Injuries
One person was injured in the crash. A listener of RMF FM radio station reported that “windows fell out” from the vehicle during the incident.
Photos shared with the editorial office confirm that the bus belonged to FlixBus. Gazeta.pl has contacted the company for comment.
Traffic Disruptions
The right lane and emergency lane on the motorway have been blocked. Authorities expect traffic difficulties to continue until approximately 7:15 AM.
