Two Traffic Lights and Barriers Severed in Collision at Żaba Roundabout

Two vehicles collided at Warsaw’s Żaba Roundabout around 9 PM, damaging infrastructure and causing traffic disruptions.

The Incident

At approximately 9:00 PM, a collision occurred between two passenger vehicles—a Mercedes and a Toyota—at Żaba Roundabout in Warsaw’s Targówek district. The incident damaged traffic infrastructure at a pedestrian crossing, causing disruptions to traffic flow on the roundabout.

Initial Findings

Preliminary investigations suggest that one driver entered the intersection on a red light, resulting in the collision. Following impact, the Mercedes struck two pedestrian crossing signal lights and barriers before coming to a stop in bushes.

Emergency Response

No injuries were reported in the incident. Two fire brigades, a medical rescue team, and police are currently at the scene. Due to the damage, traffic lights are not functioning throughout the entire roundabout.

Traffic Impact

Disruptions include the blocking of one lane in each direction. Police are conducting on-site activities to determine the exact circumstances and progression of the incident.
