Police in Puławy detained a 25-year-old Moldovan man who allegedly activated a handbrake on a moving train and possessed Russian documents.
Police Detain Moldovan in Puławy
On Monday (February 16) around 4 PM at the railway station in Puławy (Lublin Voivodeship), police detained a 25-year-old Moldovan citizen. The man allegedly activated the handbrake in a freight car of a train traveling from Szczecin to Dorohusk.
According to a Lublin police communiqué, at the time of the intervention he was between the carriages of the train. During a search, officers found “a bag with mobile phones, other electronic equipment, SIM cards, a power bank and documents in the Russian language”.
Railway Incident Under Investigation
The case was reported to the National Prosecutor’s Office, Military Counterintelligence Service, Internal Security Agency, and the Central Bureau of Investigation of the Police.
Police officers from the Lublin Provincial Police Headquarters are also working at the scene. The detention was carried out by officers participating in the “TOR” operation – together with a soldier of the Territorial Defense Forces and an officer of the Railway Protection Service.
Further investigative actions into the circumstances of the incident are underway.
