Polish Man Charged with Espionage for Russia Faces Life Sentence

29-year-old Wiktor Ź. has been indicted for acting on behalf of Russian intelligence services from February 2024 to April 2025 in Bydgoszcz and abroad.

The investigation found that Wiktor Ź. collected and transmitted information regarding Bydgoszcz Airport S.A., Military Aviation Works No. 2 S.A. in Bydgoszcz, NITRO-CHEM Chemical Plants S.A. in Bydgoszcz, and the NATO Joint Forces Training Center in Bydgoszcz, according to the National Prosecutor’s Office.

The man is currently in custody and faces up to life imprisonment.

Arrest and Motivations

Wiktor Ź. was detained in June 2023 by officers of the Internal Security Agency.

According to the National Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect is 29 years old with higher education. Investigators believe he acted on ideological and pro-Russian beliefs, though they haven’t disclosed whether he has admitted to the charges or provided explanations.
