Drone Crash Near the Estonia-Russia Border

A drone crashed near the border between Estonia and Russia on Monday, August 25. Estonian border services had previously observed the drone flying over Lake Peipus, where the Estonian-Russian border runs.

Unexplained Disappearance and Reappearance

According to Ivan Posledov of the border guard, the drone was first detected around 5:20 AM. A few minutes later, it vanished from radar while over Russian territory. An hour later, the object was re-detected and fell into a lake approximately six kilometers from the Estonian border. Authorities confirmed the drone did not fly toward Estonia, but Estonians remain uncertain whether it was a single device or part of a larger group. The military did not comment on the incident.

Explosion of a Drone in Osiny

Estonian media reminded readers of a weekend incident near the Estonian border, where Ukrainian drones attacked, including a strike on a oil terminal at the Russian port of Ust-Luga. Meanwhile, a military drone exploded in the village of Osiny in the Lublin region on the night of August 19-20. Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz labeled the event as a “Russian provocation,” though authorities are still investigating the circumstances.
