Firefighters discover charred body inside steel-container building in Żabieniec after fire on February 17, 2026.
Fire Incident
On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at approximately 22:45, at ul. Malinkowa in the village of Żabieniec (Piaseczno County), a tragic fire occurred in a steel and container structure building.
The report concerned a fire in an object measuring approximately 6×8 meters. Upon arrival of the first units, a fully developed fire was observed – flames were visible outside the burning building.
Discovery of Body
During rescue and firefighting operations, firefighters searched the debris. Inside, the charred body of a person was discovered, whose identity has not yet been established.
Ongoing Investigation
Five fire department units and police worked at the scene under the supervision of a prosecutor. Actions taken at the scene aim to clarify the circumstances of the fire and identify the deceased person.
The body was secured and transported to the forensic medicine institute.
