U.S. President Donald Trump announced a potential military action against Iran could be decided within 10 days following a Peace Council meeting in Washington.
Peace Council Meeting in Washington
On Thursday, February 19, the first meeting of the Peace Council was held in Washington. During the event, U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a speech addressing negotiations between the U.S. and Iran.
Trump’s Warning on Iran
Trump stated that the outcome of negotiations between Americans and Iranians will be known within 10 days. The American president conveyed that then the world will learn whether the U.S. will carry out military actions targeted at Iran. “Maybe we will have to go one step further, and maybe not,” he stated.
Iran’s Nuclear Program
Trump emphasized that achieving an agreement on nuclear weapons is crucial. “Iran cannot have nuclear weapons. It’s simple. Peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved if they have nuclear weapons,” he said. We recall that in June of last year, the United States attacked three nuclear facilities in Iran.
Tusk’s Appeal to Polish Citizens
On Thursday, Donald Tusk addressed Polish citizens who are in Iran or plan to travel there. “Please leave Iran immediately and under no circumstances go there,” the prime minister said at a press briefing. “The possibility of a hot conflict is very real. In a few, tens, or tens of hours, the possibility of evacuation will no longer be an option. Please take this very seriously because some people are dismissing these appeals,” Tusk emphasized.
