A serious fire erupted in an underground garage in Ząbkach, causing significant damage to vehicles and infrastructure, and forcing residents into temporary housing.
Fire Breaks Out in Underground Garage
A major fire occurred overnight in the underground garage at Powstańców Street in Ząbkak, Włocławski County. Flames engulfed several vehicles, and the incident also affected residents of the nearby building.
Damage to Property and Infrastructure
The fire broke out around 21:30 and rapidly spread to additional cars parked in the garage. As a result, five vehicles were destroyed. High temperatures also damaged electrical cables and water supply lines, complicating firefighting efforts and impacting residents.
Emergency Response and Firefighting Efforts
A large number of emergency resources were deployed to the scene. At the height of the operation, 13 teams from the State and Volunteer Fire Departments were working simultaneously. Firefighters focused on extinguishing the fire in the confined garage space and preventing it from spreading to other vehicles and structural elements.
Residents Evacuated, Temporary Housing Provided
Due to safety concerns, residents of the building are currently unable to return to their apartments. The city of Ząbki has arranged temporary alternative housing for them until the damage is repaired and full safety is restored.
