Woman dies after skiing collision in Harrachov, Czech Republic, during resuscitation efforts on February 20th.
Fatal Skiing Collision
Tragedy occurred on Friday, February 20th, in the early afternoon at the ski resort in Harrachov, Karkonosze Mountains. An elderly woman collided with a man on the slope. Despite 50 minutes of resuscitation, she could not be saved.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Police announced a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. All circumstances of the tragic incident are being investigated by detectives from Semily in cooperation with officers from Harrachov police. Police appealed to witnesses to come forward to provide details.
Increased Accidents This Season
According to the head of Czech mountain rescue, a higher number of collisions resulting in serious injuries have occurred on slopes this season compared to previous years. This accident marks the first fatality of the winter.
