18-Year-Old Arrested After Attempting Loan With Fake Documents

An 18-year-old Mokotów resident faces up to five years in prison after attempting to secure a 50,000 zloty loan with forged income documents.

Incident Details

The incident occurred at a bank branch in the Mokotów district of Warsaw. The young man presented forged income documents to obtain a 50,000 zloty loan, claiming to have salary payments from a specific company.

Investigation and Arrest

After the bank discovered the documents were counterfeit, the case was handed over to the Economic Crime Department of the Mokotów police. Officers quickly identified the suspect’s location and detained him at his residence several days later.

Legal Consequences

The suspect has been charged under Article 297 § 1 of the Polish Penal Code for presenting forged documents to obtain credit. If convicted, he faces up to five years in imprisonment. The case is currently supervised by the Warsaw-Mokotów Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
