Wawer Under Scrutiny as Six Foreigners Detained During Stay Checks

Border officers in Warsaw detained six foreigners during stay legality checks in the Wawer district on Sunday.

Operation Details

Officers from the Warsaw Border Guard Station conducted operations on Sunday to combat illegal migration in Warsaw. They carried out checks on the legality of foreigner stays in the capital’s Wawer district, working with police from Warsaw VII District Police.

Hostel Checks

Officials inspected several hostels, verifying the purpose and conditions of stay for residents. These checks resulted in the detention of six foreigners staying in Poland against regulations.

Detained Individuals

Among those detained were four Uzbekistani citizens without required residence documents who had entered the country illegally. Also detained were a Venezuelan citizen who remained in Poland beyond their allowed stay, and a Georgian citizen listed as an undesirable person in the Schengen area, also without proper documentation.

Legal Proceedings

Administrative proceedings were initiated against all six foreigners. Three Uzbekistani citizens and the Venezuelan received decisions obliging them to leave with a 6-18 month ban on re-entry to Poland and other Schengen states. The remaining two detainees – one from Uzbekistan and one from Georgia – received orders to leave Poland with 2-3 year Schengen entry bans.

Detention Center

Until their deportations are carried out, the detained men will be held in a guarded center for foreigners.
