Driver Faints at Wheel, Crashes into Tram Tracks, Hits Ford in Mokotów Accident

Driver fainted at wheel causing Toyota to crash into tram tracks and collide with Ford on Puławska Street in Mokotów Friday afternoon.

The Incident

A serious-looking traffic accident paralyzed traffic on Puławska Street on Friday afternoon, February 27, at number 131, between Domaniewska Street and Aleja Wilanowska, in the direction of Piaseczno.

How It Happened

The incident occurred around 14:00. According to the information provided, the driver of a Toyota was leaving from under a grocery store located at Puławska 131.

During the maneuver, the man suddenly fainted. Unconscious, he pressed the gas pedal, the car accelerated and broke through the parking barrier.

The Collision

After leaving the parking lot, the Toyota went straight, passing the road leading to the city center. Then it drove onto the tram tracks and then onto the road towards Aleja Wilanowska.

There it collided with a Ford driven by a foreigner. After the collision, both vehicles stopped at the scene of the collision.

Emergency Response

Fire brigade and medical rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters secured the area, disconnected the batteries in the vehicles and also took care of securing operational fluids leaking from the cars.

Paramedics examined the participants of the incident, and then both drivers were taken to hospitals for further diagnosis.

Traffic Disruptions

During the rescue operation and subsequent police activities, there were serious traffic disruptions. Puławska Street was completely blocked from the intersection with Domaniewska towards Aleja Wilanowska, and drivers were diverted.

The disruptions lasted for several hours. They ended around 17:00, after the traffic police (WRD) completed full documentation of the incident, including measurements, inspections and photographic documentation.

Only after these activities were completed were the vehicles removed from the road and passage restored.
