Iranian Drones Strike Burj Al Arab and Airports in UAE

Iranian drones targeted Dubai’s iconic Burj Al Arab hotel and airports as regional tensions escalate across the Gulf.

Escalating Conflict: Symbols of Dubai Under Attack

An Iranian drone struck the five-star Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai (UAE). This distinctive, 321-meter tall, 60-story tower situated on an artificial island became a confirmed target, as evidenced by videos and media reports.

This is not the first Iranian attack on the city. Earlier, explosions occurred in the Palm Jumeirah district at the five-star Fairmont The Palm hotel. Dubai authorities reported four people injured, with plumes of smoke and fire visible while loud booms were heard throughout that part of the city and neighboring districts.

Explosions Heard Across Gulf Region

According to AFP, citing journalists and witnesses on the ground, explosions were also heard in Doha, the capital of Qatar, and in Manama, the capital of Bahrain.

Iran Warns of New Wave of Attacks

The situation in the region remains extremely tense. The Israeli army warned early Sunday morning that another wave of Iranian ballistic missiles was approaching the country. According to security services of that state, Iran launched more than 100 missiles and drones toward Israel alone on Saturday.

Iranian state television reported that the new wave of attacks early Sunday morning is aimed, among other targets, at 27 US military bases in the Middle East and the headquarters of the Israeli military and military objects in Tel Aviv.

Casualties and Damage in UAE Cities

The toll from nighttime attacks on UAE civilian infrastructure is tragic: the Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates presented official data on the scale of the aggression. It was announced that a total of 137 rockets and 209 drones were launched from Iran toward the UAE.

Most Projectiles Intercepted by Air Defense

The ministry noted that a significant majority of the missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted by air defense systems.
