Poland’s foreign ministry advises against travel to Oman and warns of potential airspace closure over Cyprus amid Middle East tensions.
Travel Advisory for Oman
Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a warning against all travel to Oman on its “Polak za granicą” (Pole Abroad) social media platform. For Polish citizens already in Oman, the ministry provided contact information for the Polish consul in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital.
Cyprus Airspace Warning
The diplomatic ministry warns that the Middle East war could also pose a threat to Cyprus, noting that “the sudden closure of airspace to civilian traffic over the island cannot be ruled out.”
Safety Recommendations
The Polish Embassy in Kuwait requests Polish citizens in Kuwait and Bahrain to monitor local government announcements and follow security recommendations. The embassy advises avoiding military installations and strategic sites, outdoor activities, and photographing or approaching incident sites or debris. Citizens should keep phones charged, maintain contact with relatives, and seek shelter when instructed.
Jordan Airspace Closure
Additionally, Poland’s embassy in Jordan announced that from Monday, March 2, the country’s airspace will be closed daily from 18:00 to 9:00, with the decision in effect until further notice. The embassy asks citizens to monitor communications from local authorities, carriers, and the office.
