Prosecutor files charges against 59-year-old Adam Cz. for murdering paramedic Cezary L. and attempting to kill colleague Mateusz M. during emergency call in Siedlce.
Prosecutor’s Formal Charges
The District Prosecutor’s Office in Siedlce has filed an indictment with the District Court against 59-year-old Adam Cz. in connection with the January 25, 2025 incident in which – according to investigators – the murder of a paramedic and attempted murder of a second paramedic occurred.
Incident Circumstances
On January 25, 2025, a party was taking place in an apartment on Sobieski Street in Siedlce attended by six people, including Adam Cz. While under significant influence of alcohol, the man called emergency services after feeling unwell. A crew from the Medical Rescue Team, consisting of Cezary L. and Mateusz M., responded to the call.
Attack Details
After examining Adam Cz., the paramedics determined that head injuries required hospital treatment. According to the prosecutor’s account, the attack then occurred. Adam Cz. grabbed knives in both hands and attacked paramedic Cezary L., striking him in the chest area. The second paramedic attempted to subdue the attacker, leading to a struggle during which Adam Cz. continued attacking Mateusz M. with knives.
Victim’s Death and Aftermath
Despite suffering a knife wound to his wrist, Mateusz M. managed to subdue Adam Cz., call for help, and attempt life-saving procedures for Cezary L. The assistance proved ineffective – paramedic Cezary L. died from his injuries. Adam Cz. was placed under psychiatric observation, where experts determined he had alcohol dependence but no mental illness or intellectual disability.
Legal Proceedings
The prosecutor charged Adam Cz. with murder and attempted murder, noting the crimes were committed with direct intent and “as a motivation deserving of special condemnation” – while the victims were helping him after his own request for assistance. Adam Cz. was questioned three times, admitting to the crimes but claiming not to remember the incident with paramedics. He remains in temporary detention and faces a minimum 15-year prison sentence or life imprisonment if convicted.
