On March 5, 2026, on national road no. 53 in the village of Sadykierz in Maków County, a car collided with a moose. As a result of the incident, one person was injured, and the animal died on the spot.
The incident occurred on DK 53 in Sadykierz, causing serious damage to the front of the car. The moose did not survive the collision and died on the scene.
Emergency Response
Firefighters from the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Maków Mazowiecki, along with members of the volunteer fire units OSP KSRG Ogony and OSP KSRG Sieluń, were dispatched to the scene. Police officers from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Maków Mazowiecki and two medical rescue teams also intervened.
In the rescue operations, two JRG teams from Maków Mazowiecki participated, comprising six officers in total. The OSP KSRG Ogony unit with four rescuers and the OSP KSRG Sieluń unit with six OSP rescuers also responded. A police patrol from Maków Mazowiecki, consisting of two officers, was present, and two four-person medical rescue teams provided medical assistance.
Traffic Impact
The incident caused serious damage to the car and disrupted traffic on national road 53 during the rescue operations.
