Five teens aged 14-16 and a 13-year-old in Przasnysz, Poland, incited assault on homeless man in mall on February 20, 2026.
The Incident
Evidence material concerning a group of minors who participated in an incident in one of the shopping malls in Przasnysz has been sent to the District Court. The case concerns a 56-year-old man experiencing homelessness and a group of minors aged 12 to 16.
According to the prosecutor’s office statement, the incident occurred on February 20, 2026, before 8:00 PM. The report indicated that a group of young girls was inciting a 13-year-old boy to strike the man. Some of them did so in a vulgar manner, which led to the escalation of the situation.
Police Investigation
As reported by the Spokesperson of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Ostrołęka, Prosecutor Elżbieta Edyta Łukasiewicz, “a group of young girls in the mall was inciting a 13-year-old boy to strike the man.” The communication also stated that “some girls did so in an exceptionally vulgar manner, affecting the escalation of the conflict.”
Before the patrol arrived, both the youth group and the victim had left the scene. However, police identified the 56-year-old man and questioned him about the incident. During further proceedings, other witnesses were also questioned and monitoring footage was secured.
Legal Proceedings
Investigators also identified the minors involved in the incident. They are residents of the Przasnysz county aged 12 to 16. According to findings, it was the minors who provoked the 56-year-old man.
As Prosecutor Elżbieta Edyta Łukasiewicz reported, “five residents of the Przasnysz county aged 14 to 16 were questioned as perpetrators of criminal acts, preliminarily classified as incitement and complicity in a brawl.” In the case of the 13-year-old resident of the Przasnysz county, actions were taken regarding his delinquency.
Court Handling
The District Prosecutor’s Office in Przasnysz submitted evidence material concerning all minors to the District Court in Przasnysz, to the Family and Juveniles Department on March 3, 2026. As the spokesperson noted, “the case will be examined by the family court in accordance with the provisions of the Act on Supporting and Resocializing Minors.”
