Prague-North Councilor and Activist Antonina Wróblewska Attacked Residents with Chain, Destroying Their Car

A Prague-North councilor and activist from the “City is Ours” association reportedly used a chain to vandalize a car and assault its owners during an incident on August 4, prompting a psychiatric evaluation.

Unusual incident escalates tensions in Prague-North

On August 4, Antonina Wróblewska, a member of the Prague-North district council and activist with the organization “City is Ours,” was photographed after using a chain to damage a car and attack its owners. She was later taken to a psychiatric hospital for observation.

Witnesses recount the events leading to the confrontation

According to witnesses, the incident began near Central Station. Wróblewska was driving through a red light and deviating from her lane, which led a couple following her to suspect she was under the influence of alcohol. They reported the incident to police and pursued her until she blocked their path on Prague-North. Wróblewska then exited her vehicle, retrieved a chain, and struck the car before assaulting both the man and woman who had alerted the authorities.

Medical team intervenes, charges filed over property damage

Police and a medical rescue team arrived at the scene. Wróblewska was described as aggressive and erratic. Though confirmed sober and not under the influence of narcotics, her behavior suggested serious health issues. Medical personnel decided to transport her to a psychiatric hospital for observation. Further questioning has been postponed due to her condition.

Wróblewska resigns from council roles amid controversy

Following the incident, Wróblewska resigned from her positions as chair of the Housing Committee and vice-chair of the Social Policy and Health Committee in the Prague-North District Council. In a statement, she wrote: “I resign as Chair of the Housing Committee and Vice-Chair of the Social Policy and Health Committee. I am currently focusing on my treatment. I believe I will return stronger and continue fighting for what I have always stood for. Please keep me in your thoughts.”

Activist known for advocating public safety and social policies

Wróblewska was previously recognized for her social engagement, including support for nighttime alcohol bans. She frequently raised concerns about safety and social policies in Warsaw prior to this incident.
