Polish police conducted a coordinated operation on the A2 highway, arresting two Russians suspected of planning to murder a 56-year-old man in Belgium.

Two Russians Arrested in Poland

The Łódź Police Department confirmed that on August 26, information was received about two Russian men, aged 33 and 45, who were being sought in connection with suspected murder in Belgium. The Criminal Police Bureau located the suspects, and on the same day, around 21:00, after a chase and blockades near the A2 exit at Skierniewce, they were arrested.

Russian Suspects in Homicide Case

Witness accounts revealed that the murder occurred on Friday after an argument at a night store in Zeebrugge, a coastal town in northern Belgium. The men allegedly brutally beat a 56-year-old man, who could not be saved despite immediate attempts to resuscitate him. Belgian police suspected Russian truck drivers as perpetrators. A warrant was issued on Sunday, and over 100 tips were received, many containing critical information. Effective data exchange and international cooperation enabled the identification of the suspects and determination of their whereabouts.

Coordinated Polish Police Operation

During the arrest operation in Poland, more than a dozen police cars from the Łowicz, Skierniewice, Brzeziny, and Zgierz regional commands participated. “Everything was carefully coordinated to ensure the safe arrest and protect bystanders—traffic was diverted to national road 70 during the operation. At the moment of arrest, traffic on the highway was halted,” said the Łódź Police Department.
