A head-on collision occurred on Wednesday, March 18th, around 10:30 AM on Wioślarska Street, under the Poniatowski Bridge in Warsaw’s Śródmieście district.

The incident involved a 77-year-old Opel driver who, while descending from the bridge towards Wisłostrada, reportedly entered the roundabout going the wrong way, resulting in a direct impact with a Renault.

The 77-year-old Opel driver was traveling from the city center towards Wisłostrada when, instead of following the designated traffic flow around the roundabout, she turned left and entered against oncoming traffic.

Emergency Response

Firefighters, paramedics, and police were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters secured the area and both vehicles involved.

Paramedics examined the Renault driver, a man who was subsequently transported to the hospital. No other injuries requiring hospitalization were reported.

Traffic Disruption

The incident and subsequent emergency operations temporarily blocked a section of the roundabout under the Poniatowski Bridge.

Traffic congestion was particularly noticeable from the Wisłostrada tunnel towards Wilanów, with significant delays for drivers.
