Trump Rules Out U.S. Troop Deployment to Iran

During a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump stated he has no plans to send troops to Iran.

Trump Denies Iran Troop Deployment

U.S. President Donald Trump assured Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi during their meeting on Thursday that he does not intend to deploy troops to Iran.

Trump also acknowledged Japan’s ability to manage challenges stemming from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Statement at the White House

“No, I’m not sending troops. If I were, I wouldn’t tell you, but I’m not sending troops,” Trump stated during the meeting at the White House.

First Explicit Exclusion of Ground Troops

This marks Trump’s first public statement appearing to definitively exclude the use of ground troops in Iran. (PAP)
