Warsaw Police Action Targets Ride-Hailing Services, 18 Arrested

Warsaw police detained 18 individuals during a Friday operation focused on drivers providing passenger transport services, following nearly 1200 vehicle checks.

Police Operation in Warsaw Focuses on Transport Services

During Friday’s operation, Warsaw police concentrated on drivers offering passenger transport. Officers conducted 1190 vehicle checks in a few hours.

Of those checked, 952 drivers were foreign nationals. Eighteen individuals were arrested due to identified violations.

Illegal Stay and Document Violations

The controls revealed that nine drivers were staying in Poland illegally, identified as citizens of Uzbekistan, Georgia, Tajikistan, and Colombia.

Arrests for Various Offenses

Among those arrested were two individuals wanted through the Schengen Information System, two using forged documents, two possessing narcotics, and one driving under the influence.

Nearly 300 Traffic Violations Recorded

Police recorded a total of 285 violations of road traffic law and 13 violations related to road transport.

Vehicle Technical Issues and License Suspensions

Thirty-eight vehicle registration certificates were detained due to technical deficiencies. Sixteen drivers lost their driving licenses.

Multi-Agency Involvement

The operation also involved officers from the Vistula River Border Guard District, the Road Transport Inspectorate, and the National Revenue Administration.
