Warsaw police detained a 38-year-old British man wanted on a warrant for a 16-month sentence related to domestic abuse.
Police Track Down Wanted Individual
Officers from the Warsaw City Center Police Department’s Operational and Reconnaissance Division located and apprehended a wanted person.
The 38-year-old man, a citizen of the United Kingdom, had been hiding in Warsaw since December of last year.
Avoiding Justice
Police officers routinely search for and detain individuals sought by law enforcement and the justice system.
Those wanted often attempt to evade responsibility and previously imposed sentences, sometimes even fleeing from police.
Apprehension at Central Station
Last week, officers identified the man as planning to leave Warsaw by train.
They spotted him near the ticket counters at the Central Station, at which point he abandoned his luggage and fled on foot.
After a pursuit, he was apprehended and handcuffed.
Transfer to Penitentiary
The man was transported to the police station on Wilcza Street.
Following processing, he was transferred to a correctional facility to serve his 16-month sentence.
Continued Success in Apprehending Suspects
This is the latest in a series of successful apprehensions by the City Center criminal police.
Officers at the Wilcza Street station consistently and effectively conduct targeted operations.
