Israel has reportedly outlined conditions for ending operations targeting Iran, including dismantling its nuclear infrastructure, during confidential US-mediated discussions.
Israel’s Demands to US
According to information obtained by the Walla portal, Israel has formulated conditions necessary to end its operation in Iran, which were clearly presented to the US side during confidential talks regarding a potential agreement with Iran.
A key element of Israel’s demands is not only the removal of 60% enriched uranium from Iranian territory, but primarily the dismantling of extensive tunnel systems and underground infrastructure related to Iran’s nuclear program, as well as the production and development of weapons.
Targeting Iranian Infrastructure
Israeli intelligence reportedly assesses these facilities serve not only nuclear purposes but are also locations for stationing and launching ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones.
Since February 28th, airstrikes by Israel and the United States have focused on bombing entrances to these installations, though Israeli military officials consider this a temporary solution.
Limited Prospects for a Ceasefire
An anonymous source within military or intelligence circles assessed that the chances of Tehran voluntarily meeting US demands are minimal, as it would constitute total capitulation from the Iranian perspective.
Additional Israeli Conditions
Israel is also demanding a complete cessation of Iranian financial and military support for allied organizations in the region, including Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Houthi movement, and Shia militias in Iraq.
Iran Rejects Negotiations
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on Wednesday that his country intends to continue fighting against the US and Israel. He denied ongoing peace negotiations with the US, stating such talks would be an admission of defeat.
“Our position now is to continue resistance… We have no intention of negotiating, so far no negotiations have taken place, our position is very fundamental here… Talking about negotiations now would be an admission of defeat,” Araghchi emphasized. He added that “the exchange of messages through mediators does not mean negotiations with the US.”
He stated that US representatives conveyed a message to Iran’s highest authorities, who will announce their position if necessary.
