Hundreds of fires rage in Mazovian forests and wastelands amid heatwave

Polish firefighters battle over 100 wildfires in the Mazovian Voivodeship as record-breaking heat, dry conditions, and strong winds spread blazes across burned-over wastelands and forests.

Wildfires spread across over 10 hectares

Firefighters from 11 units managed to extinguish a fire that burned over 10 hectares of land in Pieczyska Iłowskie, although they will continue to monitor the area.

Combined fire efforts in Powiat Sochaczewski

Multiple fires broke out across Powiat Sochaczewski, including in Sochaczew, Bronisław, and Gilówka Dolna. Firefighters from 11 stations worked together to prevent further damage and protect nearby buildings.

Dangerous condition alert issued

With temperatures reaching record highs and dry conditions worsening, firefighters warned that even minor sparks could quickly escalate into large fires. They urged citizens to exercise caution when using fires or engaging in activities that might cause ignition.
