Skoda and Motorcycle Collision Blocks Traffic on Gierdziejewskiego Street

A motorcycle rider was hospitalized after a collision with a Skoda at the intersection of Gierdziejewskiego and Krańcowa streets in Warsaw on April 2nd.

Accident Details

On Thursday, April 2nd, around 3:00 PM, a car and motorcycle collided at the intersection of Gierdziejewskiego and Krańcowa streets, on the border of Warsaw and the Warsaw West County.

The accident occurred on the Warsaw side of the intersection, in the Bemowo district. The driver of the Skoda was traveling from Ursus towards Połczyńska Street and turning left onto Krańcowa Street, which leads from Ożarów Mazowiecki.

Collision Sequence

The Skoda driver allegedly cut off a 125cc Junak motorcycle traveling on Gierdziejewskiego Street from Połczyńska Street. The motorcycle’s left case struck the turning car, causing it to fall onto the roadway.

The motorcyclist sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital by emergency medical services.

Emergency Response

Two ambulance teams and two fire departments – from Ursus and Ożarów Mazowiecki – were dispatched to the scene. The involvement of services from two areas was due to the accident’s location on the border of their operational areas.

Traffic Management and Investigation

Firefighters implemented alternating one-way traffic during rescue operations, causing significant delays on Gierdziejewskiego Street, particularly towards Ursus. Traffic flow through the intersection was severely slowed.

Following the rescue efforts, Warsaw traffic police continued the investigation, conducting detailed measurements and photographic documentation to determine the circumstances of the accident.
