A five-month-old boy was admitted to a Poznań hospital with extensive injuries, prompting police to detain a 40-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man.
Hospital Reports Injuries
Police received a report from staff at a hospital on Wrzoska Street in Poznań. Doctors reported the five-month-old boy presented with numerous injuries across his body, potentially indicative of abuse, according to police spokesperson Łukasz Paterski.
The child underwent surgery overnight and is currently in stable condition.
Two Suspects in Custody
Police have detained a 40-year-old Georgian citizen, the child’s mother, and her 25-year-old Moldovan acquaintance.
Both individuals are being held in police custody pending investigation.
Investigation Underway
Investigators will examine the circumstances surrounding the injuries and gather evidence. The collected evidence will be submitted to the prosecutor’s office for legal assessment and potential charges.
