Iran Rapidly Repairs Damaged Missile Launchers

U.S. intelligence reports Iran is quickly restoring its missile infrastructure after attacks by the U.S. and Israel.

Iran Rebuilds Missile Launchers After Attacks

According to U.S. intelligence, Iran is rapidly repairing its missile facilities, which were bombarded by U.S. and Israeli forces.

Intelligence reports indicate Iranian forces are excavating and restoring underground bunkers and missile launchers within hours of U.S. and Israeli strikes. Authorities in Tehran were also able to protect a significant number of launchers and ballistic missiles from destruction.

Extent of Damage Remains Unclear

CNN, citing U.S. intelligence sources, reported that approximately half of Iran’s ballistic missile launchers remained intact despite over a month of bombardment by the U.S. and Israel.

In March, the Israeli military reported destroying or neutralizing around 60 percent of the 470 Iranian ballistic missile launchers, according to the Times of Israel.

Intelligence Questions Previous Damage Assessments

The New York Times reports that intelligence assessments of Iran’s capabilities cast doubt on previously presented estimates of the damage inflicted on Tehran’s missile forces.

Iran’s Current Capabilities

Iran is currently capable of launching approximately 15-30 ballistic missiles and 50-100 drones each day, according to a Western official cited in the report.

U.S. officials state that the number of Iranian missile and drone attacks has decreased by 90 percent since the start of the conflict.

Deceptive Tactics Employed

Destroying Iran’s missile potential is a primary objective of the ongoing conflict, but accurately determining the number of destroyed launchers is difficult due to Iran’s use of decoys.
