Supplementary Benefit for Social Pensions: Eligibility and Amounts
A supplementary benefit to social pensions offers a chance for increased payments to thousands of Poles. In 2026, the benefit amount will be higher. Individuals should verify if they qualify for automatic payment or how to correctly submit an application to ZUS for additional support.
Who Qualifies for the Additional zł2,704.71?
Individuals who are totally unable to work and independently manage their affairs, and who receive a social pension, may be eligible for a supplementary benefit starting in 2026. However, not everyone will qualify; specific conditions must be met to receive support.
Key Conditions for Receiving the Supplementary Benefit
Those already receiving a social pension and possessing a valid disability certificate confirming total inability to work and self-sufficiency will automatically receive the supplementary benefit. This means they do not need to submit a separate application.
EDD-SOC Form and OL-9 Document: Avoiding Confusion
Individuals receiving a social pension but lacking a certificate of inability to self-sufficiency must submit an application for the supplementary benefit (EDD-SOC), available on the ZUS website. This application requires accompanying medical documentation (OL-9 form) confirming their health condition.
Applying for the Supplementary Pension Benefit: Where and How?
The application can be submitted online through ZUS or by mail. A legally valid decision from a ZUS medical expert or medical commission confirming total inability to work and self-sufficiency is required to receive the benefit.

Following the March valorization, the amount of the supplementary benefit to the social pension increased by 5.3%, currently amounting to zł2,704.71 gross per month. This results in a total gross monthly income of zł4,683.20 for a social pension recipient.
