Ukrainian Man Arrested in Poland for Infant Torture, Abuse of Family

A 29-year-old Ukrainian citizen was arrested in Poznań, Poland, for severely injuring his 11-month-old son and abusing his wife and other children.

Infant Hospitalized with Severe Injuries

An 11-month-old boy was admitted to the Karol Jonscher hospital in Poznań with numerous injuries to his head and legs, indicating possible violence.

Police detained both parents, Ukrainian citizens, in connection with the case.

Charges Filed Against Father

The father faces charges of causing serious bodily harm and inflicting cruel treatment on his son. The mother was questioned as a witness.

Abuse Allegations Extend to Other Family Members

The charges also include abuse of the man’s wife and their four other children, girls aged three to six. Medical examinations revealed no injuries on the other children.

Suspect Confesses, Remanded in Custody

The suspect confessed to the charges. The family arrived in Poland in March 2024.

The court ordered a three-month detention for the man, who faces a potential sentence of 3 to 20 years in prison.
