Hydrological Warning Issued for Multiple Polish Regions: Delayed River Flows Expected in Eastern and Central Areas

The Polish State Geological Institute has issued a hydrological warning for September, predicting dry conditions and low river flows in eastern and central Polish regions.

Widespread Impact Anticipated

The hydrogeological forecast predicts prolonged low water levels across most of Poland, with the worst conditions expected in eastern and southern regions.

Regional Outlook

The Mazovian region faces high risk levels, with some areas already below previously established safe levels. For example, measurement points in Brwinów, Granica, and Płock all show significant groundwater depletion.

National Reserves Analysis

While nationally the situation is largely stable, localized areas may experience critical shortages equivalent to the lowest water levels seen in decades. The worst-affected areas include the following regions: Podlaskie, Warmian-Masurian, Mazovian, and Lubelski.
