Drunk Motorcyclist Insults Police, Expresses Remorse After Night in Jail

In Otwock County, Poland, a 58-year-old motorcyclist was arrested for riding under the influence and verbally abusing officers, later showing remorse after detention.

Motorcycle Season Begins with DUI Arrest

As warmer weather initiates motorcycle season, Otwock traffic police began increased enforcement targeting motorcyclists. During these actions, officers stopped a 58-year-old man operating a BMW motorcycle.

The man had a blood alcohol content exceeding the legal limit.

Initial Resistance and Verbal Abuse

Instead of cooperating, the motorcyclist became verbally aggressive and insulted the officers. A preliminary breathalyzer test confirmed a blood alcohol level of nearly 1.2 promille.

Despite the evidence, the man refused further testing and resisted, hindering the process. A blood sample was subsequently taken for laboratory analysis. His behavior escalated, resulting in the verbal abuse of five officers securing the scene.

Detention and Change of Heart

Due to his intoxication and offenses, the 58-year-old was arrested and spent the night in a police cell. His motorcycle was impounded.

The following day, after a night in detention, the man exhibited a complete change in demeanor, appearing contrite and respectful before investigators.

Admission of Guilt and Potential Penalties

The 58-year-old admitted to both driving under the influence and insulting public officials. He now faces a court decision.

He could receive a substantial fine, a driving ban, or up to three years in prison.

Police Reminder: Don’t Drink and Drive

Police reiterate that driving under the influence, whether in a car or on a motorcycle, poses a deadly threat to the driver and others.

They urge drivers not to operate a vehicle after consuming any alcohol, even the day after.

Authorities encourage everyone to contribute to road safety in Otwock County.
