Man Blocked Emergency Line with Thousands of Calls, Tracked Down After a Year

A 61-year-old resident of Olesno County, Opole Voivodeship, Poland, repeatedly jammed the 112 emergency line with tens of thousands of brief calls over a year, hindering emergency services.

Suspect Identified After Prolonged Investigation

The suspect was identified as a 61-year-old man from Olesno County in the Opole Voivodeship. The disruptive activity lasted for over a year and significantly impeded the work of emergency services.

Police determined the man made over 25,000 short, several-second calls each month. The brief call duration made signal tracing difficult while effectively blocking the emergency line.

Difficulties in Pinpointing the Source

Police analyzed potential call sources for several months. Initial indications pointed to a forested area, but imprecise signal transmission forced officers to search in numerous locations.

Calls Made Without a SIM Card

The 61-year-old made the calls from two mobile phones without using SIM cards, utilizing the emergency call function.

Suspect Confesses, Motive Unclear

The man confessed to the offense but could not provide a logical explanation for his actions. He faces potential arrest, restriction of freedom, or a fine.
