Lifetime Driving Ban Violator Detained in Otwock

Otwock police detained a 31-year-old driver who attempted to evade a patrol while driving under the influence and violating a lifetime driving ban.

Failed Evasion Attempt

Otwock police intercepted a 31-year-old Citroen driver who attempted to evade a patrol by performing a sudden reversing maneuver. Officers immediately responded and stopped the vehicle for inspection.

Narcotics and Driving Ban Violations

The driver admitted to lacking a license, but system checks revealed a lifetime court-ordered ban on operating any motor vehicles. Although sober from alcohol, tests confirmed the presence of marijuana and amphetamine in his system.

Surveillance and Additional Charges

By analyzing city monitoring footage, police confirmed the suspect had been driving regularly despite his ban. This evidence resulted in seven additional charges for violating his court-ordered driving ban, bringing the total to eight charges.

Criminal History and Legal Outcome

A repeat offender and “old friend” of the justice system, the man had served four years and three months in prison before being released in late January. Despite already being under police supervision three times a week, the court denied requests for pre-trial detention.

The court instead imposed police supervision, a ban on leaving the country, and the seizure of his passport. The suspect was also ordered to abstain from using psychoactive substances and abusing alcohol.
