A French official has received claims from 14 people that they were victims of sexual abuse by a Polish priest in Paris.
French Official Details Allegations
Marie Derain de Vaucresson, Director of the National Independent Agency for Recognition and Compensation (funded by the French church), received 14 compensation claims for sexual abuse. The alleged victims say they were minors at the time and were abused by a Polish priest.
Priest Admits to Abuse
The 90-year-old retired priest, now living in a French parish, admitted to abusing minors and stated that the total number of his victims was fewer than ten during a three to four year period. He also admitted to abusing a close acquaintance outside of the seminary.
Timeline of Allegations
The abuse allegedly occurred in the lower Paris seminary, where boys as young as nine years old were sent. The Polish priest led the institution from the 1960s to 1988.
