Rejection of Putin’s Meeting Proposal
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky refused Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposed meeting in Moscow. Zelensky stated, “I cannot go to the capital of the terrorist,” emphasizing that he could visit Kyiv but not Moscow while his country is bombarded daily.
Russian Attacks on Ukraine
Since the beginning of September, Russia has launched over 1,300 drones, 900 bombs, and more than 50 types of missiles against Ukraine, according to President Zelensky. The Russian attacks have targeted 14 Ukrainian regions, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Dnieper, and the surrounding areas of Lviv. “Explosions have occurred in almost every region of Ukraine,” Zelensky emphasized.
Support for Trump’s Stance
Zelensky also supports the position of former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding sanctions against Russia and encourages continued military support for Ukraine. He believes that it is only through such measures that future invasions can be prevented. Zelensky stated, “We are working to improve these elements to ensure lasting peace with functioning and real guarantees of security.”
