Thousands of Poles with a moderate degree of disability are now eligible for monthly financial support starting at 791 PLN, provided they meet specific criteria regarding their level of daily functioning.
Eligibility and Financial Support
At least 791 PLN per month is available to individuals with a moderate degree of disability, regardless of their income. This expansion of the support benefit system ensures that those who previously fell through the cracks of systemic criteria can now access financial aid to assist with daily living and independence.
The benefit is designed for those requiring assistance with daily activities or managing chronic health conditions. Income levels and existing benefits do not disqualify applicants, making this a significant resource for families managing rising costs of rehabilitation and medical care.
Assessment and Payment Tiers
The granting of this benefit is strictly tied to a scoring system ranging from 0 to 100 points, which measures the level of support required. To qualify, an individual must achieve a minimum score of 70 points. The final payout amount varies based on this assessment.
Following the 2026 indexation, monthly benefits range from 791.40 PLN to over 4,350 PLN. Payments are tiered: 70-74 points receive 791.40 PLN; 75-79 points receive 1,187.10 PLN; 80-84 points receive 1,582.80 PLN; 85-89 points receive 2,374.20 PLN; 90-94 points receive 3,561.30 PLN; and 95-100 points receive 4,352.70 PLN.
Application Procedure
The application process involves two mandatory, purely online stages. First, applicants must apply for an assessment of their support needs. Once a decision confirming at least 70 points is received, an application for the actual payment must be submitted to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).
