The Ministry of Health has published a draft regulation raising the cost of mandatory psychological examinations for specific driver groups from 150 PLN to 200 PLN, citing rising operational costs.
New Price for Mandatory Psychological Exams
According to the Ministry of Health’s draft regulation, the fee for mandatory psychological examinations is set to increase from 150 PLN to 200 PLN. The ministry justifies this hike by citing strict economic factors and the actual costs currently incurred by psychological clinics.
Scope of the Fee Increase
These higher rates do not apply to the average Category B driver renewing a document due to expiration. Instead, the change specifically targets professional groups required by law to undergo these specialized assessments.
Legislative Timeline and Transitional Rules
The draft is currently under public consultation, with a 30-day window for feedback. Regulations will take effect 14 days after publication in the Journal of Laws. A transitional provision allows drivers who begin their examination before the new law takes effect to pay the old rate of 150 PLN, even if the certificate is issued later.
