Emergency services forced their way into the home of Karol Nawrocki’s family following a hoax report, part of a mounting series of malicious false alarms targeting Polish public figures.
Emergency Intervention at the Nawrocki Residence
Emergency services were dispatched to the Gdańsk apartment of Karol Nawrocki’s family on May 23 following a series of SMS reports alleging a fire and medical emergency. Upon forced entry, responders determined the scene was secure and the reports were entirely fraudulent.
Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński convened an urgent meeting with services and the head of the President’s office to address the incident. Prime Minister Donald Tusk described these acts as provocations aimed at state security and vowed to identify the perpetrators.
A Pattern of Coordinated Hoaxes
This incident follows a string of similar false alerts targeting right-wing figures and institutions. Previous targets include the editorial offices of wPolsce24, the home of Jarosław Kaczyński, and the residence of TV Republika’s editor-in-chief, Tomasz Sakiewicz.
Interior Ministry spokesperson Karolina Gałecka confirmed that authorities are tracking these cascading false alarms. Officials emphasized that while current protocols require immediate response to potential threats to life, they are working to apprehend those responsible for the systematic harassment.
