Łatwogang Pedals Across Poland: Millions Raised for Sick Child

Influencer Piotr Hancke, known as Łatwogang, has cycled 500 kilometers from Zakopane to Gdańsk, raising 12 million PLN to fund life-saving gene therapy for a child suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

A Grueling Charity Ride

Piotr Hancke, known online as Łatwogang, began his cycling challenge on Friday, traveling from Zakopane toward Gdańsk. After covering approximately 500 kilometers in 39 hours, he reached the Toruń area while having raised 12 million PLN for a sick child.

The influencer noted that he has been pushing through severe fatigue, relying on short periods of sleep in a support vehicle. He expressed gratitude for the support of his team and the fans who have cheered him on along the route.

Community Support and Fundraising

The campaign aims to cover the costs of gene therapy for a child named Maks, with a total goal of approximately 15 million PLN. With 3 million PLN already secured, the remaining 12 million PLN is being gathered through this ongoing endurance feat.

Hancke emphasized that the success of the initiative, which includes monetized live streams of his journey, reflects the generosity of the public. He decided to undertake this effort after hearing about the medical challenges faced by children with DMD.

Logistical Challenges and Future Plans

While originally intending to cycle back to Zakopane upon reaching Gdańsk, Hancke has canceled that portion of the trip due to physical strain. The journey has been supported by friends traveling in a technical vehicle who have provided essential assistance.

This follows a previous major charity event by the influencer that raised over 251 million PLN for the Cancer Fighters foundation. That event, which lasted nine days, drew significant attention and record viewership.
