Emergency services in Gdańsk forced entry into an apartment co-owned by Karol Nawrocki on Saturday night after receiving multiple false reports claiming a fire and life-threatening medical emergencies.
The Property Ownership and Incident
Błażej Poboży, a former deputy minister and current advisor to Karol Nawrocki, confirmed that the raided apartment is a family property in which Nawrocki holds a 50 percent ownership stake. Official asset declarations show Nawrocki owns a 57-meter apartment and a 50 percent share in a 58-meter unit inherited from his family.
Rafał Leśkiewicz, the spokesperson for the president, stated that the forced entry occurred while the premises were vacant. He criticized the authorities’ handling of a recent wave of false reports targeting journalists and right-wing public figures, calling for a more decisive government response to these security threats.
Emergency Response and False Reports
Deputy Interior Minister Czesław Mroczek confirmed that the Emergency Notification Center received the first alert at 7:33 PM on Saturday, alleging a fire and children in danger. When a second alert arrived 15 minutes later regarding cardiac arrests, rescue teams decided to breach the door after failed attempts to contact the occupants.
Fire Chief Wojciech Kruczek noted that teams initially observed no smoke or signs of fire from the balcony, but proceeded to enter the home due to the urgency of the second report. Upon entry, the apartment was found to be completely empty, confirming the nature of the false alarm.
Ongoing Investigation
Police Chief Marek Boroń declared that authorities have launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators behind the hoax. He stated that a dedicated team is working to link these incidents to other recent false alarms, with police expecting to share findings within the coming hours.
