Heavy rain flooded the intersection of Wirażowa and Poleczki streets in Warsaw tonight, forcing police to block traffic as water levels reached depths of 50 centimeters across both lanes.
Severe Flooding at Wirażowa and Poleczki
Following heavy rainfall after 8:00 PM, a 100-meter stretch of Wirażowa Street in Warsaw’s Okęcie district became submerged. The water depth reached approximately 50 centimeters, rendering both lanes of the roadway impassable for most standard vehicles.
Police Traffic Management
Police officers were dispatched to the scene to secure the area and manage the flow of traffic. Authorities permitted passage only for those drivers who explicitly confirmed their vehicles were capable of traversing the flooded section.
Assessment and Recovery Efforts
While a reporter’s motorcycle successfully navigated the hazard despite triggering vehicle sensors, conditions remained treacherous for other motorists. No injuries were reported, and municipal cleaning services were summoned to drain the water and restore normal traffic operations.
