Violent A2 Collision: Truck Smashes into Bus and Pierces Sound Barriers

A truck rear-ended a stationary bus on the A2 motorway near Baranowo early this morning, tearing through the median barriers and crashing into sound-dampening screens on the opposite side.

Accident Details and Sequence of Events

The incident occurred at 2:26 a.m. on the A2 motorway near Baranowo. Preliminary findings indicate the truck, heading toward Warsaw, struck the back of a bus that was stopped on the shoulder with its hazard lights activated.

Following the impact, the truck suffered a blown tire, veered across the median energy-absorbing barriers, and crossed into the lanes heading toward Łódź. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop after colliding with sound-dampening screens.

Emergency Response and Traffic Impact

Although passengers were inside the bus during the collision, no injuries were reported. Emergency services, including multiple fire brigades, a medical rescue team, and police, were dispatched to the scene immediately.

Traffic in both directions was blocked for approximately an hour. A lane toward Warsaw reopened at 3:25 a.m., and full traffic flow toward Łódź was restored later in the morning.

Investigation and Legal Outcome

Police officers confirmed that the truck driver was sober at the time of the incident. The driver was issued a traffic fine for causing the collision, and authorities continue to investigate the specific circumstances surrounding the crash.
