A rejected job-seeker fatally stabbed a 10-year-old girl in front of a bookstore in Strzegom, Poland, while her mother watched in horror. Samuel N suffered from personality disorders.
The Angry Job Seeker
Samuel N, with a history of unstable work and personal relationships, vented his frustration by attacking a defenseless child. The 27-year-old had difficulty finding work in both the workplace and unemployment benefits office.
The Tragic Day
The attack occurred on August 18, 2015, when Samuel confronted a career adviser at the unemployment office, demanding to close the door and threatening to resolve “the matter.” The next day, he left his home with an axe and went straight to the junior counselor’s office.
Lack of Intervention
Investigators later determined that no one reported the threatening behavior at the unemployment office before the attack, giving the police no prior warning of Samuel’s escalating violence.
The Victim’s Life
Ten-year-old Kamilia was born with a severe heart defect and required numerous surgeries. Her family fundraised extensively for her medical care.
Sentence and Repercussions
The court found Samuel N guilty of murder, sentencing him to life imprisonment in 2016. The evidence showed that the man’s personality disorders ultimately led to the tragic event.
